The Government of India, through the Press Information Bureau, has officially declared the results of the Combined Defence Services (CDS) (I) Examination, 2024. The examination was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), and the final merit list for candidates eligible for admission to the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai has been published. This list includes candidates selected for the 121st Short Service Commission (Men) (NT) and 35th Short Service Commission (Women) (Non-Technical) courses, which are scheduled to begin in April 2025.

Candidates who have qualified are listed in order of merit and are eligible for further stages of the selection process. Please note that the results are provisional, with verification of candidates' Date of Birth and Educational Qualifications yet to be completed by the Army Headquarters.


Full Merit List: Combined Defence Services (I) Examination 2024

The final merit list consists of 590 candidates (470 men and 120 women) who have been selected based on their performance in the UPSC CDS (I) 2024 exam and subsequent interviews by the Services Selection Board (SSB). These candidates will be admitted to the OTA Chennai for the 121st Short Service Commission (Men) (NT) and 35th Short Service Commission (Women) (Non-Technical) courses, starting in April 2025.

Vacancies for the CDS (I) 2024 OTA Courses:

  • 121st Short Service Commission (Men) (NT): 275 vacancies
  • 35th Short Service Commission (Women) (Non-Technical): 18 vacancies

These vacancies are part of the total number of seats available for the Officers Training Academy courses, aimed at providing opportunities for candidates to serve in the Indian Armed Forces.


Important Information for Candidates:

  1. Medical Examination: Medical examination results are not included in the preparation of the merit list. Candidates' medical fitness will be verified separately.
  2. Provisional Candidature: All selected candidates are provisionally selected. The final confirmation will be subject to verification of Date of Birth and Educational Qualifications by the Army Headquarters.
  3. Availability of Marks: Marks of candidates will be available within 15 days of the final result announcement. Candidates will have access to their marks on the UPSC website for 30 days.
